There has been a recent flurry of activity in the Radiohead camp. After the surprise digital release of In Rainbows last month, the band announced that it will be partnering with XL recordings to release a tangible versions of the album (outside of north america).
The results? According to Pitchfork this will include a box set of all previous albums as well as another special USB box set which will have .WAV files and orginal artwork. This concept is an interesting development in the push to revolutionise the distribution of music – Universal announced just last month that they would ditch CD singles in favour of Singles on USB drives, has Radiohead upstaged the music industry once again? The novelty of the USB Boxset certainly appeals to me, although i wonder how I will manage to mount it sideways onto my laptop?
